Application Guidelines for Kiyoshi Okazaki Award
1. Kiyoshi Okazaki Award Overview
The Fulrath Okazaki Memorial Association established the "Kiyoshi Okazaki Award" and began awarding it in 2006. The Kiyoshi Okazaki Award recognizes an individual or a group of researchers or engineers who play a central role in the research, development, and production of electronic ceramics, and who have achieved exceptional results in research, development, and production, in order to steadily carry on and further develop the will of the late Professor Kiyoshi Okazaki (former professor at the National Defense Academy, former professor at Shonan Institute of Technology), who made significant contributions to the development of the field of electronic ceramics engineering in Japan. The selection process for the Kiyoshi Okazaki Award is carried out by the Kiyoshi Okazaki Award Selection Committee, which consists of academic experts and people with experience in industry, and each year no more than three winners are selected.
In the selection process, not only the number of papers presented, but also original ideas and technologies for developing new products on-site are considered important. Winners will be honored at an awards ceremony held at the same time as the annual general meeting of the association (held every June). In addition to the award certificate, a supplementary prize of ¥100,000 will be given.
2. Eligibility
- An individual or a group of individuals who have made outstanding achievement s in research, technology development , and manufacturing/production in the field of electronic ceramics. As a rule, a group should not exceed five persons.
- There is no age restriction.
- The applicant is not asked whether the candidate has received any awards in the past.
3. Nominators
- Either a member of the Fulrath Okazaki Memorial Association or a self-nomination is acceptable.
